Kids Closet Consignment Sale Aug 31

So have you heard of the Kid's Closet consignment sales?? If you have kids and haven't been to one of these sales, then you've been missing out!! The concept is the same as the Just Between Friends consignment sales, if you are familiar with those. I actually think the Kid's Closet sales are much more shopper-friendly...checkout is a BREEZE compared to JBF!! Anyway, check them out here. The Overland Park, KS sale is scheduled for August 31-Sept 4, at the Overland Park Convention Center (I-435 & Nall).

These sales have EVERYTHING kid-related: equipment, clothes, shoes, bibs, bedding, diaper bags, toddler potties, strollers, moves, games, books, DVDs, toys galore....you name it, they got it!! Best part: the last day is 1/2-price day. I'd suggest taking an empty laundry basket or kid-less stroller to stack things in, regardless of the day you go...in my past experience, your arms fill up quick!!

I'm sorry I didn't mention this sooner; I had actually forgotten about it and remembered just in time. I think it's too late to consign at this sale, but there are others around town. Anyway, just wanted to share in case you had the itch to shop but don't want to spend a lot...

On a much sadder note, I regret to share with you that it is reported that this coming week's round of doubles will be the LAST of 2009!!! So, ladies, lest this be true, you may want to get your fill of doubles in next week!! I'm so bummed!!!

My Steals, KMart Doubles week 8/16

So, is it really worth is to take advantage of KMart doubles, you ask?? Well, you be the judge! I made 3 trips to KMart during their doubles deals last week. Here are the pics of my loot from each trip in. The above photo is of $99.75 worth of merchandise. I paid $12.86 OOP!! (of course I got to the car and realized "DUH!! I had a GC I could have used!!" Just more reason to go back later in the day!! )
Trip number 2 resulted in $70.13 in merchandise; paid $12.41 on my gift card. (I had received this during the Pull-Ups catalina promo a while back when my cat didn't print and I got a GC instead)
Trip three got me $44.70 in product for $1.59 on my GC and $2.86 cash.

All in all, I got $214.58 worth of stuff for $29.72 !!! (And $14 of that was paid for with a Gift Card!!) Yippie!! I love KMart Doubles!!

Be still my heart!! I just might explode!!! I heard a rumor last week that KMart just might be offering that double coupon deal again for the week of August 30. I've been anticipating more fun, but trying to not get my hopes up too much, lest KC stores be excluded from the deals. Would you like to become a product tester for New Balance? If so, please go here to read all about the program, your duties as a tester, and to complete your application. It is a lengthy application process, so please be sure you have some time set aside to complete the forms; you cannot save and return later. I think this program will take some commitment from you, as most testing periods are 6-8 weeks in length and require frequent feedback on their site. Also, you do have to return the product at the end of the trial; but it sounds like the better reviewer you are, the more opportunities you'll have to test future products. If you are really interested, don't delay~it appears testing categories fill up fast.

Old Navy Bargains Saturday ONLY

Old Navy has another hot deal for you this weekend (Remember the flip-flop fiasco a couple months back??). Well this Saturday, 8/22, they are offering Adult Basic Tees for $3 with a limit of 5 per customer. They'll also have $1 kids and toddler socks (also limit 5). This is while supplies last, which I found during the flip-flop deal means you better be there AT opening, because at least at the Olathe store, by 30 minutes past opening, there was already a line stretching to the back of the store. There were still flip-flops left, but I just couldn't justify spending 45 minutes in line for $5 worth of flip-flops!! Good luck if you plan to brave the crowds!!

KMart ~ DOUBLING in KC ! ! ! !

Oh, JOY!!! I called the Olathe KMart location this afternoon to check if they are participating in the doubles event (since the new ad is STILL not posted on KMart.com!!). And--they ARE!! AND--they are accepting internet printables, which ROCKS, since they typically have not in the past. SOOO--you know where to find me tomorrow!!

I'm just gonna go ahead and admit that Hip2Save has done such an awesome job of compiling a coupon match-up list (and listing out all the 'rules' to play by), that I can't possibly compete. So, I'm just going to direct you on over there for all the details. Happy freebie-hunting!!!

What Mom Doesn't Need Cheap Wipes??

I've heard several people talk about the Back to School coupon book they have found by the weekly circulars at Wags. I have yet to go in to scout this out, but wanted to alert you to this deal:

If you find one of these booklets, there is apparently a $2 off Huggies wipes Wags Q in there!!! Holy smokes, Batman!! That's a high-value coupon!! So, that in itself is a great deal, as these are usually priced between $2.69-$3.29. But pair that with any manufacturer coupons you may have, and you'll have yourself a great deal! (Think home mailers--I often forget about these, but we get lots of coupons from Huggies in the mail, often pretty good ones!) We're almost out so I guess I'll be checking this out this weekend. Lemme know if you score some!

Don't forget you can always stack a Walgreens coupon AND manufacturer coupon for the same item. You should not have to hand over the Wags coupon-usually just hand them the book and show them which coupon you want to use. They'll type in the code, and you can keep the coupon for next time~just don't even clip it out! Plus, if you buy multiple wipes in one transaction, the Wags coupon will adjust the price for each one you buy, meaning you don't have to give them 6 Wags coupons for 6 tubs. How easy is that??

KMart Doubles...AGAIN!!!

Word on the street is that KMart is offering their double coupon event AGAIN, starting 8/16!! Usually you can access the next week's circular by about Wednesday, but I checked again this morning and couldn't find it. So, no for-sure confirmation that the KC stores will be participating, but get your fingers ready for some coupon-clipping if we are included. My AWESOME Day!!!

So, they are building a new shopping center right at our exit off the highway, about 1 mile from our house. I've been very excited to see what shops we'll get in there, as it's a newly developed area, and we waited 4 years for a grocery store, and we're just now getting more built up around here. Anyway, I drove up to the stop light tonight on my way home and literally screamed when I saw it: a sign saying "CVS, coming soon"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The next closest CVS is a good 10+ minutes away and this store will be within walking distance!!!! You know where I'll be like 10 times per week. There is one store around me that is very coupon UNfriendly. So, I'm hoping this one will be easier to work with. Oh, I'm so excited, so excited, so excited!!! I had to call my husband and give him the news. I could "feel" him rolling his eyes at me through the phone...I know, such little things bring me such joy!

So, the new store is at K-10 and Woodland; don't know when it is scheduled to open. Right now, there are barely walls up. I'll try to leave you all a few things on the shelves if you decide to visit MY new store!!! 8)~

How I Turned a good deal into CASH...

So last week I ran into CVS and saw that they had some good stuff on the clearance endcap. Some of what I saw:

• a one-touch "As Seen On TV" can opener, retails for $19.99, clearanced to $2.50
• Pam cooking spray, $.85
• Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, $.50
• Frank's Red Hot Sauce, $.75
• PediPaws pet nail file replacement heads, $1.25 each

Being the frugalite I am, I knew I had coupons for the Pam and Frank's at home, so I thought even though a great deal w/o coupon, I'd come back for those with Q in hand. I knew the can opener was an awesome deal but we already have one. And I wanted to look up the PediPaws online. Sure enough, the PediPaws are selling on Ebay for a great price. I returned two days later to find that my can opener, Pam, and Frank's were gone. That's the price I pay for waiting (all to save like $.35!! doh!!). But I got all 5 boxes of the PediPaws, totalling $6 and paid with my ECBs, so nothing OOP. I put them on ebay and today got $30 in my PayPal account for selling them online!! Of course it cost me $5.75 to ship them, but that's a PROFIT of $24.25, CASH!! How awesome is that??
Why tell you this?? Think outside of the box when you shop. When you find an awesome deal, think about resale...I just put a bit of cash in my pocket for very little work...
I'll keep that money in my acct to pay for coupons off ebay. So, I turned my ECBs into cash which will then pay for more coupons, which will score me MORE free stuff. AND, I got a little thrill out of the deal as well... Now that's couponing success!!
