Walgreens: Deals for 4/26 thru 5/2

I just realized I forgot to post links to the best coupon match-ups I've seen this week. Walgreens has a BUNCH of great deals this week including several freebies and money-makers! I've already been once for the Bayer glucose meter $5 MM and Nivea body wash. You better believe I'll be back this week, too!! It'sHip2Save has a very thorough list of deals for you to check out for Walgreens, CVS and Target.

Thanks, Hip2Save!!

Mail Bag Monday... 4/27

Well, I forgot to post last week, so I'll post last week's today, and save this past week's for next. OOPS!! Anyway, I got quite a few freebies in the mail, and here's the run-down:

  • GoGreen shopping tote (I love this bag!) from DeLallo olives, plus a coupon for online order: Sign up to be a web member and get one for yourself!!
  • Roots of Nature haircare samples from Walmart. (No longer available...but there are plenty other freebies worth checking out!!)
  • Cottonelle mini roll TP, Fresh Wipes sample and 2 coupons. From Walmart.com??
  • Three copies of a Huggies mailer with coupons!! (These made for .25 tubs of wipes at KMart during their triple Q event! Yippie!!)...and don't ask how I got 3 copies...I really have no idea. They all had my name and addy on them. Just lucky, I guess!!
  • A Fleischmann's Yeast bread recipe book. You can get yours here.
  • Playtex Gentle Glide sample and $1 coupon from Walmart.
  • Crest Advanced Seal whitening strips sample and $10 MQ. From Walmart?
  • and....a $20 rebate check from when I bought contacts last year! (When I submitted this rebate back in 2008, it was my understanding I'd be getting $50 back. I received $30 a couple months back and called the company about it and they said they didn't know about the $50, but that they could see I was owed just the $30...so I thought I was out of luck on the other $20...but, alas, it came!! Yeah!!
So, overall, a decent haul in the mailbox a couple weeks back. I'll try to remember to post next Monday all the goodies I've received this week and last!!

Coupon Ethics

I love the site Hip2Save! And here, she has a post on using coupons correctly, along with links to other posts by SouthernSaver (another awesome deal blog) on coupon ethics. Not only the ethics of using coupons and doing so correctly, but also empowering information we could ALL use to make us feel more confident when handing over our coupons at the check-out.
I don't know about you, but I often feel timid about my deals because of the critical looks we sometimes get from cashiers when we get a too-good-to-be-true deal. There is nothing wrong with getting a super deal! The stores and manufacturers set these deals to get people into the stores to buy their products. It's just that most people don't look at it the way we do. They think: oh, toilet paper is on special this week. That must be a good deal. So they go to Target where the big pack is $20 (which, incidentally probably is no deal at all if they would do the math), then they buy all their other needs in that same shopping trip. They just fell into that marketing trap... But not us!! We don't let our immediate needs dictate our shopping trips...we buy when the price is right and save it for when we need it....it's just a different way of thinking. And it PAYS OFF!!
I am seriously behind on logging my purchases over the last few weeks. But, I plan to get caught up this week and I'll post my savings when I do. Keeping a log is a bit time-consuming, but it's something I suggest, especially for newbies because it really lets you see how your time committment to this 'hobby' pays you back!!! I'll post my totals and my system when I get it done... until then, enjoy your deal-hunting this week and relish those savings!!!

Target Deals Worth Mentioning

I ran to Target yesterday and saved $44.20 on a $63 bill! I thought I'd highlight the best deals I found for you:

  • Diet Dr Pepper Cherry 12pk: on sale for $3.33 (no bargain there!), but use the $1 TQ and you have yourself a decent deal at $2.33. Then, next time use the $1 MQ found inside the package (printed right on the cardboard), stacked with the TQ, making your next 12pk only $1.33. I forgot to look at the shelf tag to see how long this price is valid;
  • Nabisco snacks: There are lots of Nabisco snacks on special right now for around $2, even the 100 calorie packs! Pair that with the $1 TQ and the $1/2 here, and you get these for $.50! OR, get the "Snack Sacks," (These are the Teddy Grahams, Nutter Butter cookies and mini Oreo cookies found in zip-top bags) for $1.52, making these $0.02 after coupons!!! PLUS, if you have the tearpad coupons found at some grocery stores (I've seen them at Price Chopper and Hen House, I think) for $1.50 off a gallon of milk wyb Oreos, this deal gets even sweeter: I was able to get my 100 calorie pack Oreo Cakesters for 50 cents and my gallon of milk for $1.39!
  • Kraft Salad Dressing: Priced at $1.59 - $1.50 MQ (3/29 SS) = $0.09 each!! I stocked up on these BIG time, thinking this would be SO easy as a marinade for chicken on the grill this summer!
  • Gerber Smart Sips: These are priced at $3.03 and have a peelie on them that say Try Me Free! I used the $3 IP I got for making a pledge on Gerber.com, so I paid .03 OOP and will submit for the full $3.03 MIR, making this a $3 MM! I later realized there is a $1/2 TQ that you could pair up with this and any other Graduates item, which all seem to be on sale right now....
  • Dove Go Fresh deoderant found in the travel section is $.99 and I used the $1.25 MQ in the 3/15 RP to make this a .26 MM! I figured it would beep, but it went right through!
Happy Targeting, y'all!

Next week (starting 4/26) Wags is running a promo for FREE Nivea Women's Body Wash!! The deal is buy one at $4.99, get a $4.99 RR, so FREE. What makes this deal even sweeter, is that there is a $1 IP available HERE, making it a $1 MM. And, even sweeter still: for right now, at least, this IP appears LIMITLESS!!! Hurry and print as many as you'd like NOW, because I've actually never seen a bricks coupon print more than 2 like this, so if this is a glitch, it's liable to be fixed soon!!

KMart Finds 4/19

We had lots of fun during our KMart trip this morning for the double/triple coupon event. Matt & I purchased separately, as the rules clearly stated "25 coupons accepted per person." Collectively, we got wipes, razors, tons of Glade and Renuzit, Oust, paper towels, lotions, vitamins, batteries, aspirin and even a couple shirts for the boys. Matt's total before coupons was $110; after coupons he paid $13.xx!! My total before coupons was $140 and after Qs I paid $24.60. So, for $250 worth of stuff, we paid less than $40 OOP, or 84% off!! I consider that to be a pretty darn good deal!!
I was somewhat disappointed because KMart does not have a vast array of products like Walmart or Target does, so it was difficult to make some coupon match-ups. But, I'm pretty pleased with how well we did with just an hour's worth of work! (I even think Matt enjoyed it. He was definitely blown away by his total at the end, having seen his $110 subtotal prior to coupons. Maybe now he gets why I enjoy doing this so much!!)

Would You Say This Was a Deal at $0.02 OOP???

I went to CVS Friday and scored big in one EASY trip (I love it when it works out that way!!)
Here's what i got:
4 SOBE LifeWater (BOGO sale - BOGO IPx2 = 4 FREE!!)
4 Purex detergent (BOGO sale - BOGO IPx2 = 4 FREE!!)
1 Softsoap bodywash $4.99 - .75 MQ, $4.99 ECB back
1 CVS 2pk chapstick clearanced to .25
2 Colgate sensitive 6oz toothpaste $3.99 - .75 MQ, $3.99 ECB back
1 Nature's Dentist mouthwash $6.99 - $2 IP, $4 ECB back (plus I'm sending in for a $10 MIR wyb 2, I bought the first one last week)
-------
Total before Qs/BOGOS: $61.12
After Qs/BOGOs: $13.00 - $12.98 ECB = $0.02 OOP PLUS I got back 17 ECB!!!! AND I'll get that $10 back by mail for the mouthwash! SCORE!!!

TARGET RUN 4/18 (($20 OOP!!!))

I did well at Target today. Thirty minutes in there scored me $47 worth of merchandise for $20 OOP (Would have been lower but I forgot I had a $5 GC from a previous week's promo!) Anyway, here's what I got:
1 pk Juicy Fruit (FREE after coupon, 3/15 SS),
1 Planters big bag nuts (clearanced to 2.44-$1TQ=1.44),
1 small bag Planters Cashews (1.44-$1TQ=.44),
2 Easy Mac (.89- $1/2 TQ, -$1/2 IP = FREE + .18 ovg!),
one Target reusable shopping bag clearanced to .68,
one DelMonte fruit .99,
2 Polar jarred apples .85 each,
1 Kashi frozen meal (FREE after MQ which I requested a while back and received by mail),
2 Kashi frozen waffles ($2.54 each - $1.50 IP = $1 ea),
1 Diet Dr Pepper Cherry 12pk (3.33 - $1 TQ = $2.33 plus there is a $1 MQ in the pkg)
1 Dry Idea deoderant ($2 - $2 IP= FREE --I keep finding these Qs around the house 8) )
17 trial size Colgate Kids toothpaste (.50 - .50 MQ 3/29 SS = 17 FREE!!!!)
4 pairs of character socks for Jack ($1 each)
4 cans pringles (1.59 each -$.75/2 TQ - $1/2 MQ 4/5 PG = .71 each)
----------
Before Qs $47.64, after: $20.24 OOP

All in a day's work, folks. I'm sorry I didn't get to Target earlier in the week to spin the Dr Pepper deal a few times (buy one at 2.33, then use the MQ in the pkg to get the next for 1.33, then get another using the new MQ to get another at 1.33, and so on) But I was pleased none the less.

OH--AND--I found the elusive 10-pack Minute Maid juiceboxes!!!!!!!!! Have you heard about these?? Target carries MM juicebox 15-pks. They are around $3 or something. Apparently, there are 10pks that pop up randomly in with the 15pks and these 10pks are priced at .69!! I heard about this months ago and have looked on occasion and never found one. Today, I found TWO. That makes these juiceboxes about 7 cents each! Yippie!!

Get a FREE Gillette Razor!!!

Here is your chance to score a FREE Gillette razor, just by logging on!! The catch: they will give away 500 per day until May 16. Your challenge is being among the first 500 to log on each day. Personally, I'm rarely up till Midnight any more, so I doubt I'll be able to score one. I checked this am before 6 and they were already gone for now. But, for you night-owls, this could be the deal for you!!!

Armorall Kit, $10 value

Another freebie for you, although this also seems to be one you have to hit just at the right time. Good luck.... I still haven't been able to request mine.... but you know me, I'll keep trying!!!!

Update: DEAD DEAL on Purex

Sorry Gals, this IP appears to be no longer available!!!! It must have had a SUPER low print limit to be gone so soon. I hope some of you got in on the deal before it disappeared!!!

I can't wait to get out of the house today. I NEED to run to CVS for the FREE Purex laundry detergent deal. Heard of this? Go here for your BOGO Purex IP. This is a regional deal, so you will have to type in zip code 45201 or 43123 since the KC area didn't seem to get this one. You can print this twice and match it up with the BOGO deal going on at CVS this week, to score yourself 4 FREE bottles of detergent... Free detergent is a rarity, so I'll be snagging my 4 bottles despite the fact that I've got about 8 already in the closet. But, really, can you ever have too much????

Free TUFF Hanging File Folder Sample

I don't know what to think of this one. I've tried several times to get this sample but I guess there are small numbers of these available at random times (it says you can find out when they'll be posted by following them on Twitter...but, I don't "tweet" so I don't know any more about that.) Still, I thought this was worth posting b/c I don't know about you, but I use LOTS of hanging folders to organize my coupon stash. So, a freebie never hurts!!!

Free Preschool Curriculum Pack

This may be worth looking in to. Some of you were able to score the CHEAP Hooked on Phonics packs I posted about last month. Those turned out to be great for the awesome shipped price of $14.95!
Here is an opportunity for a sample PreSchooler's curriculum from 1-2-3 Preschool Projects. I signed up to try this out on Jack. I never turn down a free sample!!!

FREE Purex Detergent at CVS

Double and TRIPLE Coupons at KMart !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am STOKED!!! I was just complaining to my husband last night that KC never participates in the double/triple coupon events that KMart has elsewhere in the country. Alas, I look today to find that they have posted online that the KC market IS participating. Last time I took part, it was only doubles. This time it's even better:
Triple coupons up to .75 (so a .25 MQ=.75 off; a .75 MQ = 2.25!!!)
Double coupons from .76 - $4 (Meaning that $4 coupon you've been holding on to for razors is now worth $8!!!!!!!!!!!)
Some other things you need to know: they will only let you get 4 like items per transaction using coupons; BOGOs and KMart issued coupons are excluded, and there is a limit of 25 MQs "per day." (I'm guessing the police aren't going to chase you down for doing more than one transaction, but maybe space 'em out, at least.) The site didn't say anything about IPs, but they were excluded last time, so I wouldn't plan on using those.
I'm off to find the best coupon match-ups...I'll post here when I find the best lists!!!

Happy shopping, all.....You know where I'll be EARLY Sunday morning!!! (This sale runs Sunday 4/19-Sat 4/25)

It was a good week for freebies in the mail! I got quite a few goodies!
  • George Killians Irish Red beer has a fun freebie offer right now: sign up and get a free "Beermaster's tasting kit' by mail. It came with 4 small plastic glasses with their logo, a nice bottle opener keychain, and a little poster you can use for the online guided beer tasting demo. We'll use these cups and the bottle opener down in the basement in our new bar! Use the link to get your own!
  • Old Spice trial-sized body wash (sorry, I'm not sure what link I got this from!)
  • Jiffy baking mixes Recipe booklet
  • And a check for $4.99 from a while back--Wags had the car air fresheners FAR plus I submitted for the manufacturer rebate, getting this for free...TWICE!! Nice!!

Freebies for You

There a few free samples to be had. Here are a couple I've seen:

2pk Magic Eraser

Crest ProHealth Enamel Shield

Walgreens Trip 4/13

1 Scunci hair elastics $2, + $2 RR
4 bags Chex Mix .99 - .50 MQ = .49each
4 Russell Stovers eggs (1/2-off, mucho yummy...incidentally, these make great fillers at .25 each!)
-----
13.44-2MQ= 11.44+tax
-3x3.50RR = $2.02 OOP, got back $4.50 RR

I plan to roll these into more toothpaste, which is the good money-maker this week.

Anyone else get any good deals??

Target Deals Week of 4/12

There are numerous freebies and deals this week at Target. Since time is money, and I love saving money, I'm just gonna post the link to Money Saving Mom's list of coupon match-ups. I hope you score some good finds (I'm personally liking the FREE Aveeno lotion deal!!)...I did the Dry Idea deal last week...that's a decent one as well!

Save $5 at Babies R Us!!!

Need a baby gift for someone? Or just need to buy diapers or something for your own little one?? Here's the link to a $5 off a $25 purchase coupon. Remember BRU also accepts manufacturer coupons so if you are buying diapers or other supplies for which you have a MQ, don't forget to stack them for added savings!

Free Personalized Cards . . .

We have no excuse for not sending Mom a card this Mother's Day (Nor do our husbands have an excuse not to send one to us!). Hallmark is giving away one million personalized Mother's Day cards this year. Just go HERE to pick your design, add a photo, personalize your message and send it, all on one site (this is an actual card, not an e-card!). They will charge you .99 for shipping after you use code FREECARD at checkout, but that's still a bargain for a way cool card (and you don't even have to get out of your pj's to do this!) Happy creating!

No Coupons Easter Sunday

Just a reminder, everyone, that if you buy your paper for coupons each week, don't waste your $1.50 this Sunday. There are no inserts scheduled for this week due to the holiday. Speaking of, I hope you all have a very blessed Easter Sunday and that you all enjoy some quality time with your families!!

Free Deoderant at Target

This post is late, I know, but if you are planning a trip to Target today anyway, be sure to print this $2 IP before you go! It will score you 2 free (print twice) Dry Idea roll on deoderants, on sale right now for $2 each.

Another Hen House Run ($9.48 OOP!!)

I had to run in to Hen House again--the deals are too good to pass up!! Today I got:
4 Artisan crackers
4 French's mustard
4 Kraft dressing
1 box croutons
2 bags Nestle's morsels: $1.48 each - $.50/2 IP (doubles, making these $1 each!) Go here to make this deal even sweeter, scoring a Nestle plate with proofs of purchase!
2 Toaster Strudels, $1.88 each - $1 IP = .88 each!!

My total was $54.xx before loyalty card and MQs, $9.48 OOP after!!

Rolling RRs at Wags

Wags is kind of fun this week. There are some good RR deals to be had and you can roll a few of them....

Colgate Total Advanced $3.49, get 3.49 RR (use the .75 MQ 3/29 insert for overage)
Chapstick 100% natural $1.99, get 1.99 RR
Skintimate shave cream $2.99, get 2.99 RR
Edge Infused Energy shave gel $3.59, get 3.59 RR
Visine 5oz (selected varieties) $3.99, get 3 RR wyb 2 (Buy 2, using 2 $3 MQ 3/15 RP = 1.98 OOP plus 3 RR!)

Here, I used a $3 Visine RR to buy my chapstick and colgate, paying less than $2 OOP and getting $5.50 back in RR (which I will then use to buy maybe the shave gel...)

**Just remember that when rolling RRs, you can't use a Visine RR to buy more Visine, or the new RR won't print. Use the Visine RR to buy more Chapstick, the Chapstick RR to buy toothpaste, etc. I haven't gotten any of the shave cream yet and I think I read somewhere that the toothpaste and shave cream are from the same company so maybe you can't roll these??? Anyone know for sure??

CVS Clearance 4/9

When i was at CVS earlier in the day, I noticed they had some good stuff in the clearance area. I went back with coupons in hand when I was out later in the day. At this particular CVS, there is a real coupon Nazi and of course she nabbed me. She tries to tell me all the time that you can only use one like coupon at a time, no matter how many of the product you get. Whatever!!! So, I had some clearanced Gillette after shave stuff and MQs and she wouldn't let me use them, saying I couldn't because they were on sale (ugh...hello!!!) So no Gillette for me. But she at least scanned the CVS Qs I had, so I got:
a second Skintimate, $3.49 + 3.49 ECB, FREE
another pack of gum, $1.19 - 1.19 (FREE MQ)
Glade Car air freshener, reduced to .85 - $1 "any glade air freshener" CVS CRT = FREE+ovg
Skin Effects Lip Enhancer (I can't believe this was originally $20, but it was in the 75% off area and was marked $5) - $5 "any Skin Effects purchase" CVS CRT = FREE!!
**I always check my CRTs and coupons that print at the scanner against the clearance section. I get stuff for free all the time by matching these up. Just a friendly hint!
I got $10.53 worth of stuff for $2.50 ECB plus $1.02 OOP, earned $3.49 ECB yippie!!

I love Hen House this week!!!

In general, I think Hen House is really high-priced. But, every once in a while they thrill me with some really great deals. This was the week for that. In this order, I got $88.88 in groceries for... $30.42 OOP!!!! Go me!! Some of the high-lites:
Wheat Thins Artisans crackers, $1.58 - BOGO MQ 3/15SS = .79 each!!
Kraft dressing, $1.48 - $1.50 MQ 3/29SS (YMMV on this one, since it's overage) = FREE!!
Velveeta, $3.xx - .55 MQ 3/15SS = approx $3
Kraft cheese (cubes, shredded, slices, etc) $1.58 each...great price!
French's mustard, 14oz, $.99 - .50 MQ 3/29SS (doubles) = FREE!!
I'm going back for more dressing, mustard and crackers before this sale is over!! You have thru Tuesday to shop!!

CVS 4/9 .... $0.73 OOP!!

Thursday I ran to CVS for some of their deals. I got:
4 pringles, .88 each - $1/2 MQ 4/5 PG, making these .36 each!
1 Skintimate shave gel, $3.49 + 3.49 ECB = FREE (these say limit 1, but I confirmed it--it's limit TWO)
1 Natural Dentist mouth rinse, 6.99-$2 IP=4.99 OOP + 4 ECB, limit 2 (The deal is to buy 2, making it $10 OOP + 8 ECB, then submit for the manufacturer rebate of $10, making these an $8 profit. I'm still working on getting my second bottle, as they seem to be out of it everywhere!) This is an April ECB deal so you have till the end of the month to get these.
1 box of staples, which I needed to get my coupon inserts organized
1 Wrigley's gum $1.19 - 1.19 (FREE MQ 3/15SS) = FREE
$17.48 worth of stuff for $12.29. I used 12 ECB and pd .73 OOP, got back $7.49 in ECB

Rebate Round-Up

There are some good rebates to be had right now. Here are a few I've seen:

  • Physician's formula make-up. There are several rebates for this right now. Go here for more info on the various kinds. You have to actually buy a product that states "try me free" on the pkg. There is a $2 CVS Physician's formula coupon in the April Good Housekeeping; stack that with a $/$$ CVS Q and you could have a great money-maker there (I think I'll be trying that...)
  • Nestle refrigerated cookie dough: look for packs that mention the MIR. Stack it with this IP and you have a MM
  • Kellogg's Raisin Bran Extra cereal. Look for specially marked "try me free" packages and use the $1 MQ from the 4/5 insert to make this a MM
  • Kellogg's All Bran Strawberry Medley cereal. Again, use the $1 MQ from the 4/5 inserts and this rebate form to make a MM
  • Try this link for info on a $20 rebate that could come in handy if you are making a nice Easter meal....
I always try to do rebates when I can, especially if I can make it a money maker. For the price of a stamp, I get a little monetary surprise in my mailbox when I least expect it!

Free Huggies Diaper Sample

If you have a tot in diapers size 2 or smaller, this freebie is for you (or you could request this anyway since these types of things make nice fillers for baby gift baskets)....

Huggies Pure & Natural, availabe in sizes newborn-2

Mail Bag Monday... 4/6

So I got a couple decent things in the mail this week:
  • A sample of All-Bran Pink Lemonade drink mix
  • and a coupon for a FREE Kashi frozen entree!!
Can't beat a free meal and drink in your mailbox!!
